ABFA (Australian Barramundi Farmers Association) Half Year Workshop Click here for more details and registration form (PDF) The Australian Barramundi Farmers Association ½ year workshop and meeting for 2008 will be held in Darwin. The theme of the workshop will be the development of a national framework for Environmental Management Systems (EMS). With industry everywhere being regarded as an environmentally regulated activity requiring high levels of monitoring, with predator management permits required, with water quality and discharge limits constantly monitored and a new raft of regulation likely to be associated with the global warming response, the workshop aims to find a pathway to sustainability that is efficient, accepted by industry and accepted by the regulators.
The meeting will also involve visits to leading Northern Territory barramundi farms and reports on the R&D directions of the ABFA.
