-                      Promote the development of the aquaculture industry in Queensland

-                      Provide leadership to the Queensland aquaculture industry

-                      Coordinate industry policy and priorities including research, development and training

-                      Represent the common interests of the member associations to government and the community

-                      Monitor government policy on issues relevant to the industry and to initiate government policy and legislation that supports the development of the aquaculture industry in Queensland

-                      Provide reliable information about the industry and promote communication within the industry

-                      Work with other relevant State and National organisations to promote the industry

-           Seek funding for the promotion and development of the industry and the Council
